What to expect
The initial consultation is usually 30-45 minutes long. A detailed history of your condition together with any relevant past medical history will be taken followed by a full musculoskeletal and biomechanical assessment to determine a clinical diagnosis of your problem. You will be expected to remove outer layers of clothing so that the problem and body part of concern can be fully assessed.
Following your assessment your Physiotherapist will then work with you to develop an appropriate treatment plan and if required may liaise with other practitioners should further examination be required. The aim of this unique programme will be to cater for your personal needs, maximize your rate of recovery, and reduce the likelihood of a recurrence of the problem. Subsequent treatment sessions may take up to 45 minutes but usually last 30 minutes. You will have every opportunity to ask questions about your condition and to seek advice regarding its management and prevention in the future.
